Solo Album Fundraiser Hi folks, My name is Al Hoffmann, and I am a teacher, musician, and writer. I have dedicated most of my adult professional life to teaching English Language and Literature in US Public Schools and International Schools around the world. Throughout this time working in classrooms, I’ve been, in my free moments, slowly chipping away at personal passion projects related to music. After over 20 years of playing in bands, writing and performing music for theatrical productions, mentoring student rock band clubs, and recording hundreds of demos in my home studio, the time has come for me to properly release a small collection of my solo music. However, the final product requires some help from a few other professionals so that my songs can be properly mixed, mastered, and printed onto vinyl. Unfortunately, this process is expensive for a high school teacher making music independently. So, I need a bit of help from you. However, I also want to use this project as an opportunity to give back. In several of the schools I’ve been a teacher, I’ve been a mentor to students, who like me at their age, have started their own bands. In Indianapolis, where I began my teaching career, a number of those students went on to participate in Girls Rock! Indianapolis, a program that helps girls get instruments into their hands so that they can start bands, record music, and play for live audiences. Many of my students and their peers have gone on to study music in university and continue to play music independently. I think Girls Rock! is a fantastic program, and I would like to donate 10% of funds raised toward the cost of my album’s production and 100% of funds raised that exceed actual production costs. Current production costs are estimated at $4,129. If all goes well, this fundraiser will help change the lives of some young, aspirational girl rockers who might not be able to do it on their own. All donators to my project, who wish, will be listed in the liner notes of the album. Any donator who gives $30 or more will receive a copy of my album on vinyl record, shipped free to anywhere in the continental USA before the digital release of the album.
