Sidney Alumni, My name is Aaron Lang, and I am just wrapping up my first year as Activities Director here at Sidney Community Schools. Sidney Schools had a great year with many accomplishments! The volleyball team was a game away from state, our girl's golf team reached the state tourney for the first time, multiple individuals made it to state in wrestling and track and our band and choir received Superior ratings at contest and marched well in parades. What a year! I would like to take this time to introduce myself. I am no stranger to the Sidney area as I graduated from Hamburg in 2007. From there I went on to wrestle at Morningside College, where I ended my career as a National Qualifier in 2010. I eventually graduated from Peru State College in 2015 with a degree in Secondary Education in Mathematics. I’ve been with Sidney Schools since 2011. I started as a para in Special Education and have moved into multiple positions. I am currently the technology coordinator, Head Wrestling Coach, as well as Activities Director. My wife Becky and I have lived in Sidney since 2011 and are proud to call Sidney home. We have two girls, Rylee (9), Reagan (6), and a mini goldendoodle Gable (4). Sidney Schools have a great deal to be excited about in the Activities Department. Our football field is being renovated to include new sod, bleachers, and a concession stand. Our track is going from gravel to All-Weather, with 8 lanes on the home stretch with 6 all the way around. We also purchased the lot to the East of the stadium where we will have a new parking lot for our upgraded facility. With all these fantastic improvements, there are still upgrades to be made. We are excited about the possibility of upgrading scoreboards and sound systems in our gymnasium and the renovated football field, as well as purchasing a Fully-Automated Timing System for the new track. These and other various athletic equipment purchases would help keep the Sidney activity experience something to be remembered by everyone. Our goal at Sidney is a top-notch activity experience, where we continue producing high-level teams and experiences with state-of-the-art facilities. With that being said this is where we need your help. We have currently raised $95,000 of our $250,000 goal to make these upgrades happen. Please see the attached document if you are willing to board the Cowboy/Cowgirl train and help donate to our upcoming projects! I am very excited to lead the Sidney Activities Department and hope to represent our community in the best possible way. If you want to stay current with facility updates and activities follow us on Twitter @Sidney_AD and on Instagram sidney_activities.. Thank you for your time and consideration! Sincerely, Aaron Lang
