For those who do not know, Sid is a rescue bulldog. Sid was born in May of 2024 and was gifted to his original owner, by family who thought the new owner could use a dog. A year later, Sid was turned over to the bulldog rescue, because that owner was not in a place to take care of Siddy. Dogs are not gifts. None of this was Sid's fault. Luckily, the KC English Bulldog Rescue was there to step in and make sure Siddy found a new home and got the surgeries and medical treatment he needed to live his best life. Mudder and Pawther are foster pawrents and volunteers with the Kansas City English Bulldog Rescue and in May of 2024, when Sid needed an immediate foster placement, we went and picked him up within 24 hours and brought him home. Within the first week of fostering, Sid needed two major surgeries. Sid had to have his tail removed due to it being inverted and he needed to have brachycephalic obstructive airway surgery, which included having his nostrils widened, his soft palate shortened, and his tonsils and saccules removed. The rescue covered all of the costs for these surgeries and the aftercare. For Sid alone, that was a cost in the ballpark of $3000 and that is not including the microchipping and vaccine updates they also paid for. Mudder and Pawther took care of Sid after his surgery and obviously fell in love with that chucklehead and officially adopted him in June of 2024. None of it would have been possible without the rescue. None of you would know Sid if it were not for the KC English Bulldog Rescue. Right now they have over 30 dogs in foster care and are over $20k deep in medical fees already owed to the vet. Donations are at an all-time low and the board, for the first time since the rescue has been open, is debating if KCEBR is going to be able to keep its doors open. PAWLEASE help us. Even the smallest donation helps. This rescue saves so many beautiful lives and Sid is just one of many.
