On October 6th of last year, Sheila was diagnosed with stage four cancer. Sheila knew that she needed to fight and after eight rounds of chemo and after ringing her treatment bell, Sheila and her family were beyond words! They were blessed to know that Sheila was headed in the right direction with this horrible disease After a few good months, Sheila was rushed to the ER in April of this year with new and scary symptoms. Sheila was then diagnosed with a brain tumor. The doctors were hopeful and confident that they could remove the tumor and Sheila had a chance to fight. And she did! April 26th was her 1st brain surgery. She came out of that surgery like the boss that she was and shortly after started rehab. Like every cancer patient, Sheila had her good days and she had her bad days but things were looking amazing until Sheila was met with a new aggressive tumor growing in her brain. She was yet again admitted to the hospital where she underwent her 2nd more extensive brain surgery. This surgery was a bit more tricky and things didn’t look as good as the first time around. The drain that they placed in her head wasn’t working properly and they needed another way to relieve that pressure and fluid buildup. So July 11 Sheila underwent her 3 rd and final surgery to place a shunt in her head. It was after that surgery the doctors felt as if nothing else could be done to help Sheila in her fight. Shortly after she was released home to her family’s care with the help of hospice. After her valiant fight against cancer and facing her treatment with bravery and grace her body could do no more. Sheila passed on July 27 surrounded by those who loved her. Due to her husband facing his own medical battle, he is unable to work, so our family is asking for donations at this time. Any donations would help us with the cost of Sheila's medical expenses and the planning of her memorial. Sheila was loved so much and we appreciate any help making her memorial reflect just how much she will be missed.
