Hello all! My name is Adianu Etinose (Nosa in real life), and I write science fantasy novels and novelettes. I work as an evening shift cashier at my nine-to-five job. By day, I focus my attention on storytelling. This year, I've been accepted to Viable Paradise. Viable Paradise is a week-long workshop that takes place at Martha's Vineyard each fall. This year's workshop takes place between the dates of October 8 - October 13. This year's tuition is $2,450, and the seven-day hotel stay costs $1,900. I have asked for a tuition payment plan in three parts. The first $816.67 is due August 15. The second is due August 31, and the third is due September 15. The downpayment for housing ($950) is due on August 15. The second payment for housing is due on September 8. Being accepted to Viable Paradise is an immense honor that I never, not even in my wildest, most eccentric fantasies ever expected to occur. (Even now, as I write this, I am constantly rechecking my email to see if I misinterpreted my admission letter.) Twenty-four students are selected each year to attend the workshop, and I am one of them this year. But I need your help in making attendance possible. I work part-time as my disability precludes me from working full-time hours consistently. (I once went for weeks and weeks working full-time hours. I winded up in the hospital.) Most of my money goes toward bills, and I simply will not be able to attend without your help. I haven't published anything thus far, but this year, I hope to try my hand at submitting pieces for publication. The news of admission gives me great courage. The project that I'm working on is one that I envision as a novel-length work. The dual-perspective novel features a Nigerian mermaid from an alien planet and an elven prince who rules over a desert empire in which his people believe him to be a god. The prince knows all too well that he is not one, but the demoness who clings to him intends to make good on her promise of transfiguring him to one under her duress. In the demoness' efforts to force his hand, she kills the prince and the mermaid princess on the night of their marriage consummation. To put it politely, crap hits the fan before the situation finally resolves. Attending this workshop would allow me access to some of the greatest minds working within the science-fiction and fantasy field. (They are my heroes, guys! They are legends of myth and yore!) And I would spend a week with all of them! Anything would help no matter how small the donation. I would be grateful for any amount. Thank you! Adianu (Nosa)
