" A mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take".My friends have lost their mother to cancer, and there is nothing I can do about it. I don't know what to do or how to help, but I am going to try! Lupita Gutierrez had been battling cancer for the past several years and through it all, my memories of her all contain a smiling face. She is the epitome of the word Mother. Her soul radianted love to all she encountered. As a mother to four beautiful children (Frankie, Ernesto, Selena and Emmanuel), in the past few months she had come to rely on them and her love of God for strength to make it through each day. It has been months since she had the ability to work, let alone to care of family. Her oldest sons have pulled together to help support the family financially, and her daugther has resulted to taking night classes so that she can take her little brother to school and pick him up on a daily basis. Her husband in addition to continuing to volunteer and work for their local church, averages 12-hour work days in order to provide for his family. As a mother myself, I know I would want my children to be able to have fond memories of our time together, and not have them tainted by the stress that accompanies wondering how daily expenses will be handled.  My hope is that we can help in anyway we can to help them find some peace during this ordeal. Funds donated will be given to the family to help provide for funeral expenses.
