Hi, my name is Calli Thomas. I have put together this fundraiser to raise money for Seans final arrangements. Sean Luberger went missing on June 27th, 2024. Prior to that, Sean was many things. Primarily, a devoted and loving father. Sean would do anything he could for his son. Thick as thieves, they were. I reported him missing on July 3rd, 2024, after not hearing a word back from him all week. Our son and I called and messaged countless times to try to reach him. I reached out to everyone I could think of to ask if they had heard from him. No one had heard from him, and no one knew where he was. Sean and I were so proud of or boy, Kyler (14 y.o. at the time). They had just started working together for the summer and Sean was seeing Kyler almost every day. It was Kyler's first job! They were both very excited to be having these new experiences together. Sean would come pick him up in the morning and bring him home after work. When I couldn't reach him that Sunday, I knew something was wrong. For the last 2 years we have been hoping to hear something. The detectives would tell me they are doing what they can. I immediately began a spiral of horror and grief. This was a very abrupt and horrifying scenario. It was so hard to tell Kyler how serious this was. That poor boy... My heart, quite literally, broke. Fast forward, July 28th, 2024, 5:30pm, I received a call... A detective called me and said that they found some remains that had been identified as Sean. I'm not really sure exactly what was said after that; but something to the effect of: case transferred to Copley PD and gave me some contact information for a medical examiner. Thus, began another investigation. I must say, I experienced some relief knowing something after 2 years. But that was short lived. It turns out, they only recovered his skull and mandible, and a few other bones. Sean was identified through his dental records. His bones were sent to an anthropology department to be examined then sent off and confirmed to match the DNA of the skull and mandible. At this point the detectives have made some search efforts and plan to do another search soon. Sean will be released for cremation if they don't find anymore remains. If they do recover more remains, that will postpone him coming home. The cremation cost is going to be right around $2000. I'm beginning to look for options for local burial plot or a similar option, which, I'm finding between $1000-$5000. I haven't started costing out the funeral/celebration of life yet. When I get more information on that I will post an update. Whatever money is donated here will go towards Seans final arrangements. Goal is between $5000 - $8000. Kyler has endured so much the last few years missing his dad and his very best friend. Sean was always present for Kyler in every way he could be. Seans reason for living and breathing was for our boy. I will take comfort knowing that, in Kyler is, a living breathing piece of Sean and I get to be his mom.
