In a perfect world we would value the things that should matter the most and the occupations that are frowned upon would be compensated by the impact that is made on the lives they touch on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we are not living in a perfect world and the majority of the occupations that are impactful on human lives aren’t considered to be the most desirable. With that being said, almost 10 years ago in 2013 a little seed of hope named “Wonder Years Daycare & Learning Center” was planted on Ralph Ave in Brooklyn NY. This little seed has been simply magical throughout the years, even surpassing the owners initial dreams & expectations. The neighboring communities of Canarsie, Mil Basin and East Flatbush have all become extended family. Scholars who entered this safe haven at the tender age of almost two are now embarking on the 5th Grade. This is a testament to the hard work, dedication and sacrifice of our beloved Ms. Chaneen and staff who is Brooklyn’s unsung super heroes . Their level of care and attention to detail is unmatched. Now we fast forward to the current day of the Year 2024 where the little seed planted back in 2013 is in jeopardy by the owners of the property who refuse to renew the Lease for Wonder Years Daycare on Ralph Avenue. We have been fighting and negotiating since September 2024 and have even offered double our rent just to stay in a place that so many scholars call home. It was not until two days before our Step-Up Ceremony did we know that their decision was final. Although those talks were unsuccessful and initially we were upset we believe there was a reason for the denial. God said it’s time for bigger and better! Just as we were hit with this epiphany Ms. Chaneen embarked on the potential new home of “Wonder Years Daycare & Learning Center” while driving one Saturday morning. After a few phone calls and a visit it seems that God was right and he was on time, the place is perfect and it gives us room to grow. On July 12th, 2024 we had a mandatory meeting with all of the parents of Wonder Years Daycare & Learning Center to keep them abreast on the imminent move that will happen this Fall. The meeting was overwhelmed with positivity and support. A few of the parents suggested that we start up a “LFEBridge” so that the village can be a part of the driving force of this new chapter. So here we are with God in the driver’s seat and our Village behind us ready to take on the new challenge! We truly appreciate any and all donations that we will receive from this LFEBridge. We have less than 2 months to pack all of our things to move. Please help us keep the dream alive.
