On the morning of July 25th, everyone's favorite pony, Mr. Skippy, woke up with a horrible stomachache. After being treated by our primary vet, Skippy seemed to be doing better and he went back out to his friends. The following morning, Skippy's condition worsened and he was trailered to Pilchuk Veterinary Hospital for further evaluation. After several tests, an xray showed sand in his stomach, which resulted in his colic. Skippy will remain at Pilchuk for next few days receiving hourly fluids in hopes of passing the sand through his system. This process alone will cost roughly $7,000. If the sand is unable to be cleared by Friday, Skippy will be sent in for surgery, which will add an additional estimate of $18,000 to his bill. Skippy is the very 1st pony most of our students ride and he has been a tried and true member of the PondaLucea herd for the past 10 years. We are all praying for his recovery and are asking for donations to help cover this financial burden. At this time, we are asking for the full $25,000 balance in case surgery is needed. If funds are received in excess of the final bill, all remaining donations will be used to provide additional veterinary work for the rest of the PLS school ponies. Thank you for helping to support Skippys recovery!
