Justin and I recently rescued a puppy and named her Honey, she’s a beautiful Lab Mix! Honey was abandoned on a porch in Missouri at only 4 weeks old. She had a very tough life prior to us bringing her home but once we did she turned into a happy and silly little pup. She is now 10 weeks old, loves to eat, sleep under moms vanity, and chew on dads crocs! This Thursday our Honey girl got very sick overnight, she was vomiting and had nose/eye discharge. We took her to the Vet ER and they ruled it as Kennel Cough, while there she received many fluids and medication and we brought her back home. Unfortunately, Honey did not improve Friday, so we brought her back to the Vet, again they gave her more fluids and meds. Saturday morning Honey proceeded to get worse. She had no appetite, could not sit up, and was uninterested in all the things she loves. We took her back to the ER and Honey tested positive for Canine Parvovirus. This is a virus that she caught while at the shelter prior to us adopting her. This virus attacks her gastrointestinal tracts causing her to be extremely lethargic, have no appetite, abdominal pain, damage to her immune system and possible septic shock. Without treatment her chance of survival is very small. To get us thus far we’ve already spent $5,000 helping our Honey Girl but in order for Honey to completely heal she needs overnight hospitalization for up to a week which can cost anywhere between $10,000 to $15,000. Any small donation or share will help bring our Honey Girl home happy and healthy! We thank you all in advance as this pup means so much to us.
