Hi my name is Kelley and this is about my sweet girl Maple. The Parvo virus is awful! You can be super diligent when you get a new puppy. You can do everything right - as we did. No outings with the new puppy- just vet appointments until she was fully vaccinated. Got her vaccines and boosters as soon as they were due ( she had an appointment for 7/20 to get her final booster in her puppy series). But Maple still contracted the Parvo virus and is fighting for her life at the Spokane Pet Emergency Clinic(PEC) .On July 13th she seemed a little under the weather mid-day. She threw up a little grass a couple times and just wasn't being herself. I naively thought she had a little tummy ache. I took her to PEC at 5 am the next morning and received devastating news. Our sweet Maple tested positive for the Parvo virus. I was in complete shock. We were sent home from PEC and were given medication and supplies (sub q fluids) to treat her at home. I though she should have been hospitalized knowing how bad Parvo can be but I deferred to the vet's recommendations. Sure enough we were back at PEC less than 12 hours later and she was admitted. . After maxing out our Care Credit card and depleting most of our savings - she is still there. We have spent thousands of dollars trying to save her life but she still isn't out of the woods yet. Thongs are still very touch and go. I will not stop fighting for her but really need some help financially to keep her hospitalized until she is eating and drinking on her own. If any of you are able to help enable us to keep her hospitalized @ PEC until she is stable - it would mean the world to me. It is amazing how she has become such a huge part of our lives only knowing her for a little more than a month. She is an adorable, silly,beautiful, loving,sweet little sassy pants. Her doggy sister Cassidy has also fallen deeply in love with her too. It is extremely hard to ask for help. But I have to swallow my pride and ask for it now. If you cannot donate that is fine but please send love,prayers and positive thoughts her way. This has been so trying and difficult but I can not give up on my sweet Maple leaf.
