Hello! ***update***Vinny has had his second blood transfusion. He’s fighting so we have hope. Waiting for an update from the doctor this morning. Ultrasound yesterday showed no signs of internal damage. His red blood cell count is low. Our names are Cindy and Jamie and we have been the proud moms of our dog Vinny for a couple of months. We adopted him from All Fur One animal shelter. He is only 1 year old and was just diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). It is an “autoimmune disease in dogs in which the body attacks its own red blood cells.” As a result, Vinny will need to stay in the hospital and receive blood transfusions, as well as, ongoing medication in order to survive. We are asking for donations to help defray the medical costs that are already mounting up. Unfortunately, in May we had to put down our dog, Charlie, and our cat, Norman, and are still recovering from the emotional and financial drain from that. Charlie suffered from lymphoma and we spent over $10,000 to keep him with us. Please, if you can find it in your heart to donate and help us continue to give Vinny a chance at life, we would greatly appreciate it.
