Hi, my name is Samantha and i am fundraising EMERGENCY MEDICAL funds for my cat '' Sweet Bea the Banshee.'' THE STORY: Sweet Bea coughed up blood last week, so I rushed her to the Emergency Vet. After some tests I found out she has a tumor in her lung. They sent me home with antibiotics and steroids hoping the lung mass would shrink if it was an infection. We did another X-ray which confirmed it was not an infection. it is a lung tumor. This will require more tests, and a Lobectomy to remove the tumor. I asked the Vet what he would do in my position. He stressed the only wrong thing to do in the situation is to let her sufffer--- but that if he had the means, the prognosis looks good, and he would do all it took. PROGNOSIS: Sweet Bea is about 8 - 10 years old. She potentially has another 7+ years of life left if we can remove the tumor. All of her other blood work came back great! The Vet thinks that this is a Primary Lung Tumor, and it does not appear to of spread. The tumor is located in the lower lobe of her left lung, and is in a PRIME LOCATION for an easy Needle Biopsy (confirm if it is cancer), As well as a Lobectomy to remove the tumor. Sweet Bea is an otherwise healthy cat, her current quality of life is great, good bloodwork, prime position of the tumor for easier removal--- these are all facts that lead the Vet and I to believe that Sweet Bea's prognosis is good in her case. SUMMARY: It devastates me that finances are playing a role in this. Sweet Bea requires needle biopsy, CT scan to confirm no cancer spread, and major surgery. This is a hefty financial burden to bear. I felt it was necessary to reach out to my community to see what resources I could dig up for my girl. If you, or ANYONE you know has the financial means to contribute to this fund, we would be extremely grateful. I don't want ANY of my friends and family to feel pressured to donate. I do not expect anything. If you cannot contribute financially-- texting the link to a few friends, passing the link along via social media, passing it along can do wonders to reach a lot of eyeballs who might be able to help my kitty!
