I am raising funds to help bring Nike (black/dark coat) home to join his brother Dice (white/tan patches). Nike and Dice are two bully breed, full biological brothers, that are two years old and have spent the past 11 months in a shelter. They were scheduled to be euthanized on August 2, 2024. I went to the shelter where they were to bring both dogs home. However, due to Nikes behavior it was decided that it would be better for me to just bring Dice home for the time being to integrate him into my pack of 3 rescue dogs I have at home. After seeing the compete turnaround in Dice in just a week in my home I believe that Nike is capable of being socialized with other dogs, em with time…but this will be a slow process. These boys do not have time on their side. I am raising funds to obtain either fencing materials to create a separate fenced in area for Nike, or a very large outdoor kennel (he is very active and needs room to run and burn energy) so that I can keep Nike separate from both my pack and his brother while we work on his behavior modification/general obedience and socialization. This separation is crucial to the safety of all the dogs while I am at work. Dice is a completely different dog with just a week of individual attention, live, and increased time in the yard to exercise- things that shelters just simply aren’t capable of providing. Nike, still at the shelter, has been looking for his brother and playmate when he goes outside. I believe some time and patience will allow Nike to become the great dog he has the potential to be, he just hasn’t had the opportunity to learn manners yet. Nike is very unlikely to be adopted because it was determined that he would be best as an only dog unless adopted with his brother, Dice. All funds raised will go towards the purchase of fencing or a lager kennel (depending on how much we can raise before the shelter says they can no longer put off his Euth date, and any funds in excess of those will go towards professional dog training or be donated back to the shelter he came from. His Euth date has been temporarily delayed while I find resources to safely house Nike on my property. This is very temporary so the need to acquire fencing materials and get the fence built is urgent! Please help me give this dog a chance at life outside of the shelter and to reunite this bonded pair.
