Here we go again, the 2024 Turtle Rescue season is upon us! 4M Turtle Ranch was created by Michael and Marsha Conte to save the critically endangered sea turtles of El Salvador. We are so excited to be involved in saving these amazing creatures once again!!! We are asking for modest donations from anyone who wants to participate in this rescue effort. Anything helps, and 100% of donations go directly to purchasing eggs. Mike and Marsha started the 4M Turtle Ranch 5 years ago to help save the sea turtles of El Salvador. It is something we thought had to happen before the turtles disappeared from Costa Azul forever. This 3-mile stretch of beach is critical to the species' survival. When we discovered that every turtle laying her eggs on that beach had them stolen and sold for human consumption, it made us sick. The eggs are sold by the dozen, ridiculously cheap considering the ecological devastation this causes, by locals trying to help their families survive in this notoriously poor area. If only they understood what they are doing. Even though we live 2,000 miles away, we have a house on that 3-mile stretch of beach. So, we decided we had to do something to help save these turtles. Last year was very rewarding and also a great success as we were able to purchase all the eggs that we could find. Our goal this year is to continue to work towards rescuing all eggs that are laid on the beach and releasing them back into the ocean. To increase our efforts yearly, we need support from others to purchase as many eggs as possible. The season runs from now through November, and we hope you can help us raise funds to save these turtles.
