In loving memory of Roy Valdez April 26, 1960-July 19, 2024. Roy had been in prison for 16years. 13years in solitary confinement! No parole hearing. Law says 24hrs to sign death certificate it took over 2 weeks! Prison won’t release his property and we contacted the Susan Eggman the CA county senator with no response. Prisons do not support families with transportation of inmates body or any expenses at all! Sadly Roy Valdez was almost free after serving 80% of his time served in California state prisons. He never had a visit because it was very costly many individuals were denied visitation and it was too far away from his home and beloved family in Denver CO. Roy loved his family and had a big heart ♥️ He was adored by his family and was excited to be home soon! Unfortunately he got very sick terminally I’ll immediately after his wife Bertha Valdez passing on May 16, 2024 He died just two months after her. It has been very tragic to loose them both in such little time. Roy got approved for a compassionate release but didn’t live long enough to make it home to his family. He died alone in a prison cell. He never made it back home Please help support his family they want to give a proper funeral service outside of the prison facility in a suit and in a casket not cremated or in his prison blues and his family wants to say goodbye to their beloved Dad, Pappo, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Roy did not have any life insurance or any savings he was totally dependent on the prison system for support or lack there of. Roy had many accomplishments in life including serving in the Army, going to college and having a family. It has been an horrific experience dealing with the prison system and having his body released to his family. They are trying desperately to raise awareness of the injustices and are in need of financial support from community. Please help Roy get back home so he can be buried with dignity in a Valley of Soldiers at Ft. Logan Cemetery in Colorado. His family wants to be able to visit him at least in death. Thank you all for support.
