Logline: Upon the lovingly restored bike that he rode the 1987 Tour de France, former professional cyclist Adrian Timmis recreates one of the toughest stages of that year's race. This short film follows him on a nostalgic trip up Mont Ventoux where he discovers a new perspective. Watch the trailer: What is this project? Hello, we’re Steven Green and Hugo Gladstone. We’re part time filmmakers and full time bike nerds. A few years ago, we made this short film about British ex-professional cyclist Adrian Timmis. He rode for the ambitious but ill-fated ANC-Halfords team in the 1987 Tour de France, which included a mountain time trial stage up the infamous Mont Ventoux. This film shows Adrian recreating that stage and testing himself against the mountain once more on the very same bike he rode in the great race over 30 years ago. With some marvellous serendipity, he was reacquainted with the bike after a chance encounter online, many years after regretting selling it. Preview screenings of Return to Mont Ventoux received acclaim at the Rouleur Classic and selected bike events and film festivals. We are now looking to put the film online so it can be seen by a wider audience. To do that, we need to pay the licensing costs of the music and archive footage. We have already received a very generous offer that covers most of these costs, so we just need one final push to get us over the finish line (hopefully without collapsing in oxygen debt like the riders on that brutal stage all those years ago...). With the film already completed we will then publish it online to be viewed for free. We have already secured most of the funding required to license the archive and music and are now match funding the final amount to complete the film. We are now seeking a minimum of £1,000 so the material may be used for digital streaming release. This will enable the film to reach the wider, appreciative audience it deserves. Where will the money go? It will be used to contribute to music and archive license costs and add final post-production enhancements.
