I have just spent 4 months volunteering in Ghana, where I was a primary school teacher at Retca School Complex, Frankadua. Government schools in Ghana are only accessible to the wealthier families and therefore communities like Frankadua are obliged to build and fund their own schools for their children. Retca School provides schooling and education for about 150 local children and is running out of classroom space - several classes share a classroom and currently there is no room for a library. When I left Frankadua I spoke with the headmaster and asked how best I could help the school and the children in the area. The headmaster explained that the most pressing need was to build more classrooms so that there could be a separate computer room and library and 2 new classrooms for the older children. I have agreed to help as best I can. If you would like to help with this project I would be very grateful - no matter how small the donation is, it will go directly towards funding these new classrooms.
