Our handsome, talented, strong, and generous boy Serguei Dolys Ndinga Momo was taken from us too soon. He died suddenly of cardiac arrest in his home in Carrboro, NC on June 27, 2024, less than a week after he turned 21. His untimely passing presents financial hardship on top of our grief. We would be grateful for any financial assistance to defray the significant and unexpected expenses to bury Dolys with dignity in his adoptive country. Dolys was a loving son, brother, and grandson. Those who will mourn his passing include his parents, Sergueï Bracy Ndinga Momo and Strother Murray-Ndinga, of Chapel Hill, NC, and Irène Milolo Tamba, of Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. He is also survived by his elder sister Vanessa, of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo; younger siblings Naomie, Klavna, and Exaucé of Chapel Hill; and grandmothers, Rilla Murray, of Chapel Hill and Monique Makolo Tshissabi, of Brazzaville. We are heartbroken we will never again see his smile light up a room. Dolys was born in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, and attended primary school there. Later, he attended The American School of Kinshasa before moving with his family to Honduras. Dolys was an avid and talented soccer player. During his high school career at Del Campo School in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, TX, he excelled in both American football and soccer. After moving to Chapel Hill in 2024, he enjoyed playing recreational soccer with the Orange County Adult Soccer League (OCASL) and supporting his younger siblings in their athletic endeavors.
