Join us in changing the life of a remarkable 3-year-old boy who has been bravely battling multiple disabilities and health issues, including severe uncontrolled seizures, chronic lung disease, autism, and cerebral palsy. Asaiah's entire life has been filled with hospital visits, medical procedures, and a constant fight, but he remains strong and resilient, always wearing a smile on his face. We are raising funds to provide Asaiah with an assistance dog—a devoted companion that will be by his side, helping to keep him safe during seizures. The world almost lost this special little guy a year ago when he a fall from a seizure that created a bleed. This incredible dog will be trained to alert his parents when a seizure is about to happen, offering precious moments of warning to prevent dangerous falls and severe outcomes. With Asaiah's parents also caring for two other sons with complex disabilities, they need all the support they can get to ensure his safety and well-being. Asaiah has been offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by one of Australia's most established assistance dog breeders, but this comes with a significant cost - these dogs cost upwards of $10,000. These specialized dogs require extensive training that will cost the family thousands, and unfortunately, the NDIS does not cover the purchase price of the dog or the seizure alert training specific to Asaiah. We need your help to make this life-changing opportunity a reality for Asaiah. Your generous contribution will not only provide him with an assistance dog but also offer him and his family a sense of security and comfort in their challenging journey. Together, we can give Asaiah the gift of independence and safety, allowing him to explore the world with the grit and determination that define his remarkable spirit. Join us in this important cause, and let's make a profound impact on Asaiah's life. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to making a significant difference in the life of this courageous young boy. Our window is small, the dog can only be held for Asaiah for so long. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us! For funding transparency see our funding plan below: Organiser: Ashleigh Williams (Mother of Child receiving funds) and who will be dispersing the funds. Plans for funding: First $5000 will purchase the assistance dog outright from Australian Tegan Cobberdogs who breed Assistance Dogs. Link to page here - https://www.tegancobberdogs.com Second $2000 will purchase the speciality training required to pass the Public Access Test which allows the dog to access anywhere the child goes. This is delivered by a registered assistance dog training organisation. We are using Canine Helpers. Link to page here - https://www.caninehelpers.org.au Anything over $7000 and up to $9000 will go towards the cost for scent detection training that will allow the dog to be trained to Asaiah’s specific scent changes when having seizures. We will use the lovely trainer Mandy from Working Wonder Dogs. Link to website here - https://www.workingwondersdogs.com.au Anything over $9000 will go towards the public access certification exams and extra costs associated with assistance dog training. These dogs require a specific diet, regular and ongoing training and registrations fees to be nationally recognised. If we raise $10000 then we will cover the exam!
