As I write this, I think of how strong Ray was throughout his battle. He continuously fought each and every day to stick around for the ones he loved. Especially his son, Nico. I, myself, am trying to channel that same inner strength in order to write and share this. On Friday, June 30th, the world lost a person of wonder and great admiration. A man who was always selfless, caring for everyone around him, making others smile and laugh, as well as famously sharing his musical talents to serenade everyones ears who would listen. He was the best Dad and the greatest brother, son, nephew, loving partner and friend, as well as just an overall amazing person to anyone he crossed paths with. He had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard and loved. Nothing meant more in the world to him than knowing how loved he was by his son each and every moment they spent together. Making memories with the ones he loved was one of his favorite things to do. He loved spending quality time just sharing a good meal, listening to music, going to concerts, watching sports, traveling the world and laughing while reminiscing about shenanigans with friends. He was a legend at playing sports, a talented writer of stories, poetry, and songs, an incredible guitarist, excellent cook, and most importantly such a gentle and kind soul who the world was better off for having. Unfortunately, finances are limited so we are taking donations. Moneys collected will be put towards remembering and honoring Ray’s life. We would love to be able to make a beautiful tribute to, and celebration of, his life—as he would want us all to celebrate him, instead of mourn him, during this time. Donations will specifically be used to go towards his cremation, putting together a memorial celebration party of his life for all to attend and share stories and photos, and good food together, just as he would want. All additional funds left over afterwards will be put into a trust fund account for his son Nico’s future. Thank you for taking the time to read, for your donations, and for all of the love and support you have shared with him and our family.
