My name is Julia Schnibbe, and I am a founding member of Troop 44G - West Milford, New Jersey, one of the first female Scouts BSA troops in the country. I am proud to be the first Eagle Scout Candidate for our Troop, and I’m looking for your financial support for my Eagle Scout Project. The beneficiary of my project is The New Weis Center for Education, Arts & Recreation. The New Weis Center is a 152 acre facility in Ringwood, NJ. Their mission is to make the center a vibrant cultural, historical, and natural resource for the community. My project will rebuild the currently barren front garden near the entrance, which is approximately 650 ft2, to create a sustainable, attractive, and conservational habitat that will support the native bird and insect population. This new area is intended to provide a habitat for Grey Catbirds, the only native predator of Spotted Lanternflies, to plant a variety of native plants and wildflowers, and install one solitary bee nest to support pollinators. In order to accomplish this goal, I am raising funds to purchase a variety of native plants and shrubs, a new layer of topsoil, and a layer of protective mulch for the new plantings. The total project cost is estimated at $1,400. I would appreciate your help in supporting my Eagle Scout Project. Whether big or small, every donation will help me reach this goal, and it will be much appreciated. Sincerest thanks for your support, Julia Schnibbe
