Hey! My name is Ruby and I am off to Kenya for my first solo adventure! I will be teaching young primary school children who are struck by poverty and have very little educational rights as well as empowering young women and children within the local community. Through my upbringing in the UK, I have been one of many who are fortunate enough to receive a comprehensive education unlike thousands of children across the world. I recognised this as an issue during my trip to Ghana in the summer last year and it compelled me to do something about it. I am aware that my short visit to Kenya is only a scatch on the surface but I believe that the best way to tackle this issue is with small actions.
