Meet Raisin. She's the softest, sweetest dog that you'll ever meet! Unfortunately, she's also not very bright sometimes. On Monday October 19th we noticed that Raisin wasn't feeling very well. We thought she was just a little under the weather, but we started getting worried a few days later. She would eat, but hesitatingly so. She was drinking plenty of water, but she was vomiting all of it up. All the while she was acting like she was feeling worse and worse. We took Raisin to the vet on Thursday the 22nd. The vet said that she needed some blood tests to figure out what was going on. We took her back in the next day and found out that she was having some gastrointestinal problems, but we didn't know what. Our local vet told us that she couldn't find anything on X-ray, so we would need to get her an ultrasound. She recommended an animal hospital in Windsor, so we immediately loaded her in the car and got her down there. The ultrasound ended up being inconclusive. When it was done the vet in Windsor gave us a choice; either let her stay overnight and they would give her some medication, or do exploratory surgery. We opted for the medical care, not wanting to operate on her unnecessarily. Unfortunately her condition got worse overnight, and the vet told us surgery was probably necessary. After surgery we found out that she had eaten TWO stuffed toys, which were blocking her digestive tract and causing her to vomit up food and water. We went down to see her this morning (Sunday the 25th), and she was doing much better. We've been getting updates all day, and we found out that she will be able to come home soon! We're incredibly happy that our puppy will be around for many more years, but as you can imagine this whole process ended up being very expensive. We do have an emergency fund, but we weren't prepared for an ordeal this large. We're looking for a little help getting our sweet girl home. Anything would help. From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank you for taking the time to read about Raisin. If you are able to donate we would be eternally grateful.-Bryan & Ginni
