Hi, I'm Duncan Ross, a musician by trade, but also a keen scuba diver, writer and archaeology enthusiast. Over the last ten years, I've been incredibly fortunate to have had the pleasure of being involved in several exciting underwater archaeology projects. I have dived sites dating from the Mesolithic era up to the modern day, and have travelled from the Isle of Wight to the Scottish Highlands. Within rivers, lakes and oceans and through sites such as shipwrecks, crannogs, submarines and ancient settlements, I have striven to gain a glimpse of the variety of submerged heritage in the UK. I have now written a book which charts my journey. The hopes are, amongst other things, that I can pass on some of this information to anyone looking to get involved, that I can raise better awareness of the true value and fragility of our disappearing underwater heritage, and that I can highlight the fantastic work done in this field by organisations, professionals and volunteers. It is a strong and original idea. Compiling some of the UK's most spectacular submerged archaeological sites in one book has not been done before. I have interest from a publisher, but because the readership for such a niche book will potentially be small, there is understandable hesitancy about investment. I feel, if presented properly, that a book such as this could be very beneficial for UK underwater archaeology, both for the people involved and for those who know very little about it. I understand that fundraising for publishing costs is not the most crucial thing in the world right now, but if you also believe that this book will have a useful and positive impact, then please feel free to donate. I am happy to answer any questions, provide more information or send sample chapters. Thank you so much, Duncan Ross
