We're a dedicated group of young filmmakers seeking your generous support for our upcoming supernatural horror short film, "Prom House". - The Film - Set in the early 2000s, our film combines the thrill of classic slasher horror with a poignant exploration of inherited trauma and the struggle to break free from a brutal past. "Prom House" centers on a group of high school seniors who escape to a beach house Airbnb for their post-prom celebration, only to discover the horrifying secret haunting their dream weekend getaway. As the terrifying supernatural events escalate, the relationships between our key characters — Charley, Emily, Sophia, Avery, Keira, and Lindsay — are tested to their limits. What sets "Prom House" apart from other films in the genre is the emotional depth we've infused into the narrative. The horror is not just in the supernatural events, but also in the all-too-real struggles our characters face. Inspired by real-life experiences of moving past familial trauma, we've sought to create a horror film that is as thematically deep as it is visually haunting. - About Us - Our team, who previously delivered the successful horror short "The Fight or Flight Response", is passionate and ready to create a film that resonates with our audience, which ranges from teenagers to adults who appreciate the complexity of mature themes. - How Your Money Will be Used - Your support is crucial in making this project a reality. Our budget stands at $5000, which will cover costs such as new filming equipment, professional makeup and prosthetics, premiere venue booking, festival submission costs, accommodation for our cast, and the acquisition of necessary costumes and props. The film is set to begin filming in mid-August 2024, with a release date set for September 12, 2024. If we do not reach our funding goal, we will self-fund as much as possible, as we did with our previous project.
