Hi there, My name is Carolina and I'm asking for help with my cat Maverick's vet bills. For those that don't know Maverick personally, he is my 3-year-old Grey tabby that we have had ever since he was little. He was found at 4 weeks old in a truck engine, that truck drove roughly 20 miles with him in tow. We took him in immediately and he became part of our family. His personality quickly earned his name and like most cats, became loved by friends and family. Last night we found Maverick injured in our backyard. After a quick drive to the veterinary emergency room, we found out that he was attacked by something. His right pelvis was completely crushed and unable to walk. Thankfully no major organs were damaged and his spine is still intact. Surgery is scheduled first thing Monday, a surgeon is being called in for his operation. In the meantime, he has to stay at the hospital over the weekend on fluids and be monitored by the staff till then. The price of not just boarding but the surgery, pain medication, anesthesia, etc. has racked up a high vet bill that although we paid in full, hits a hard dent in not only our bills but the reality of more bills. He will have to have checkups, possible pain prescriptions, and possibly buy supplies for our home to make his daily life more comfortable. We don't know what the future is going to hold for him and our lifestyle change, but we love our boy and we will do everything we can for him. Any amount that you can help with would be greatly appreciated.
