My name is Krista and I am raising money to get the answers we deserve for our puppy Raya. Over the past 48 hours, our what was happy healthy 5.5 month old mastiff puppy, was rushed to our local ER and treated for siezures, lethargy and GI issues. Raya was treated immediately for her siezures and stabilized, the ER teams worked tirelessly to find an answer for us. Initial questions pointed to mushrooms, but that was quickly ruled out. With hours passing and no answers Raya started to decline fast. The Veterinary team noticed she now was internally bleeding, they ran more tests and xrays. They found that her blood was not clotting and her platelets were almost non existent. Our dog had been poisoned somehow. The Teams had advised us that Rodenticide was most likely what was used. After transfusions of platelets to help get her body to start clotting on her own her body did not respond and her numbers got worse. We were informed that in medical and professional opinions this was not an accident because of the amount of poison she would have needed to ingest. Raya went from stable to internally bleeding out within a short few hrs. From the information we have recieved from poison control and all 3 ER doctors this was a very severe case of poisoning, and in a healthy puppy the worst they had ever seen. We have law enforcement involved and our baby is currently undergoing an Necropsy to find some kind of answers as to what was used to poison our girl. We are a family of 5, we have three young girls 8 years, 20 months old and a 1 month old. Our family is beyond devastated at this news and all of the events that have occurred in the past 48 hours. We are asking for any and all help we can get to find answers as to what happened to our puppy. To get some sort of justice and answers for Raya. We will continue to work with the vet teap and law enforcement to find whomever did this to our dog to prevent it from happening to another family and pet.
