Dear friends, family, and fellow animal lovers, I come to you today with a heartfelt plea for my beloved 9-month-old Golden Retriever, Tessa. Recently, our bubbly companion was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both hips, leaving her in pain and struggling to move freely. The veterinarian has recommended total hip replacement for both hips, a complex and expensive procedure. Tessa will need to undergo two surgeries, with a necessary recovery period in between, followed by rehabilitation to regain the full function of her hips and, most importantly, her carefree spirit. She is less than a year old and I am determined to give her the best chance at a pain-free and joyful life. However, the financial burden of these surgeries is overwhelming. I am currently going to veterinary school so unfortunately my funds are very limited right now. Currently, the first appointment is scheduled for October 17 at Iowa State University, and I'm hoping to secure the necessary funds before then to avoid any delay or cancellation. Asking for help is never easy, but I believe that Tessa's age and unyielding spirit make her deserving of every possible effort to restore her well-being. The estimated cost of Tessa's surgeries and post-operative care amounts to $11,000—a significant sum to raise.
