My name is Zhaneta and GiGi is my first fur baby. GiGi will be turning 12 years old in a month and I want to continue giving her the best possible life for the rest of her years. GiGi has been the happiest, sweetest and cutest little doggie until a little over a year ago. GiGi started not feeling well with constant diarrhea. After rushing her to an emergency vet hospital due to her belly being very bloated and inflamed. I was told that it was a good idea that I brought her in or GiGi may not be here with us anymore . GiGi was then diagnosed with a very rare condition called Protein Losing Enteropathy, which in simple words means that her poor little body is unable to hold on to any protein or nutrients. Because of this illness she is being placed on medication for the rest of her life or that life will be short lived. My heart was shattered. How did my healthy little baby get so sick? Did I do something wrong? Did I not feed her well? I felt like I was failing as her mother. After GiGi was discharged she was placed on 3 types of very strong medications, one of them being Prednisolone - very strong steroid with a long list of side effects. After that GiGi had to be seen by a veterinarian regularly as her health had to be monitored very closely. Every veterinarian visit ranged from $350-$600 depending on the procedure she needed to have. Fast forward to now, GiGi has lost 95% of her beautiful fur, lost 4lbs and developed a rare skin condition that looks like a very bad hyperpigmentation. By now she has seen numerous veterinarians, a few specialists and her health does not seem to be getting any better. As a fur mom, it is very hard to see her deteriorate These last couple of days have been sleepless nights. She is getting up every couple of hours, lost her appetite and once more has been put on another strong antibiotic to help her with her intestines. The veterinarian is recommending yet another set of ultrasounds and other procedures. Her doctor bills are getting excessive. At this point I’m $10,000+ in vet bills.Thank you for taking the time to read our story. From the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate any support to help us.GiGi & her mama
