Update: Cheddar is at a boarding facility receiving medical treatment, thanks to your generous donations! I am still collecting money so that she can stay the full 6-8 weeks if needed (every cent of this fundraiser will go to her care). Cheddar's story I adopted Cheddar from the ACC in Manhattan over a month ago. She was scheduled to be euthanized because she had a severe skin condition as well as other issues. But she is just a year old and incredibly sweet and affectionate. Over the past month she has had three rounds of antibiotics for her skin condition, which had become infected due to scratching, and an infection in both ears. She had worms. She was emaciated. And this week she really turned a corner; she has stopped scratching herself, her fur is growing back, and she looks amazing. Look at the difference in just one month! However, today I received test results from the vet, and Cheddar has a staph infection called MRSA. It is very rare for this infection to transmit to humans, but I've been advised to find her a foster home for 6-8 weeks while she undergoes another round of antibiotics, because I have young children in my home. It has also been suggested that I "return" her to ACC, which I will 100% not be doing. She has finally found love, happiness, and a home with us over this past month. Now, in order to continue with her new, healthy life, she needs to find safe, caring boarding where she will be given antibiotics for the next 6-8 weeks. Can you help me pay for this? Any amount will help, and every cent will go to Cheddar's boarding and care. I would be grateful for any assistance. Thank you.
