Hello, my name is Ritchie and I'm making this fundraiser to help fund the memorial of my mother, Pauline Montgomery's, sudden and tragic passing. My mother was the kindest person you'd ever meet, wherever she went smiles and laughs would follow. She touched the heart of anyone she ever talked to and was such a kind soul. No matter what life threw at her, she always came out on top with her head held high and a radiant smile from cheek to cheek. This includes her battle with cancer, that she had fought through not even a year after I was born. Although she was always delivered the short stick in life she always fought threw the best she could and that's one quality I hope to possess as I grow older, she was a fantastic role model for her children and grandson. Unfortunately, as my mother, step-father, and nephew were travelling New Brunswick on one of their yearly road trips they love to take, tragedy struck. As they were driving on a freeway in a construction zone, where there was only one lane on either side with no passing allowed, someone foolishly tried to pass a vehicle in front of them in a transport truck, and with no time to react, they crashed into the vehicle that my family were in. The entire crash involved 3 deaths, which one of was my mother. We are all extremely heartbroken as this was so sudden and out of nowhere. Even now I find it hard to believe, I still envision her coming through the doors of the house and immediately calling my name to come to help her unload the car as I always helped her when I could. It's going to be a rough time going forward and any help anyone can provide is more than appreciated. We always knew we wouldn't have our mother for as long as we hoped because of her health, it just hurts, even more, knowing she was battling her entire life for it to end like this.
