Hello friends and family! This next semester, Fall of 2024, we are going to be traveling to Oxford, England to study there for the semester. We’ll be going with the SCIO program, which stands for ‘Scholarship and Christianity In Oxford.’ Our current university, Covenant College, partners with SCIO to make it possible for students to grow in their broadmindedness, understanding of other cultures, global awareness, and academic rigor. During this experience, we’ll be taking tutorials with Oxford professors, as well as getting a chance to know some of the city’s history and culture more closely. For Hans as a senior English/Philosophy double major and for Anastasia as a junior Music major, this is an incredible opportunity to study at one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world. As we’ve planned and researched, our excitement has been growing with regard to the challenge and the academic growth that will come from this experience; we both believe that there is a strong need for Christian presence in the academic world during these divided times, and that Oxford will develop us in our ability to take part in that. We’re also so excited for the opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of England, both for its own sake and for the growth which comes from being immersed in a different country over an extended period of time. However, there are many expenses that come with this program, most of which we are attempting to cover through scholarships and working jobs. With that in mind, we hope you’ll consider supporting our academic endeavors in order to further make this opportunity a possibility by contributing towards our travel expenses, which come to the figure we’ve set as this LFEBridge’s goal. Thank you so much!
