Hi, my name is Amanda, and I am the founder of Flex gymnastics club in Petersfield. Flex gymnastics club launched in November 2019. Since opening, we have faced many challenges, COVID being by far the biggest, but we came out stronger. When we started, we only had 6 members. We now teach hundreds of children of all ages and abilities across the local area from Havant to Guildford. With a strong team of coaches and volunteers, we provide a safe environment for the future generation where they can learn fundamental skills which can progress to any sport. We also have a very well-established competitive squad who are fortunate enough to compete all over the country. Currently, we are training in a small gymnasium within a school in Petersfield. our coaches arrive an hour early to set the gym up to ensure it's ready and 100% safe for every class. We are lucky to have a small team of parents who assist us in packing away each day. This has been our routine for almost 4 years! Whilst it is ok and we make it work, it does mean our gymnasts fall short in the last 30 minutes of training. This time all adds up over the course of the year! We have been very lucky this month though. We have been approached by a very kind family who owns a small industrial unit in Petersfield and have offered us the space as a permanent home for the club! This will mean better equipment, more space, better quality training and more opportunities for the club. Not to mention the fact we won't have to set up or pack away! To assist with this move, we are looking for local donations to help fund new safety equipment for the gym, office and family room. By having a permanent facility, I am also looking to be able to provide gymnastics classes to all the local schools as part of the pe curriculum and offer the sport to those who may not be able to access it outside of school.
