When Nyx was found he has a broken arm a dislocated shoulder and an abscess in his paw so big you couldn't see his claws! The Abcess gave him an infection was also covering the fact that his arm was broken :( after discovering the fracture we realised we were unable to cast his arm as it was also out of its socket. He was too small and poorly to operate on at the time so he was on painkillers everyday for the first 2 months of his life and was recommended he was kept in a cage for 23 hours a day. Nyx screamed and screamed everyday to be let out of his cage and would try to escape causing more damage to his broken arm. And so we felt it best to allow him to wonder the house alongside his brother and sister with assistance, his painkillers and his age meant he was only awake for a couple hours a day anyway. Nyx is now just over a year old! His ears are a bit wonky and he has a limp but he is happy! His arm had healed but out of its socket and there is a build up of scar tissue in his shoulder socket, his fractures ( which were quite bad) have healed, but obviously since he had no cast they are not healed in the most ideal way) he was diagnosed with Arthritis at 6 months old due to his leg being out of place. This means he requires supplements and specialist food to increase his quality of life! Nyx needs a specialist operation to remove all the scar tissue in his shoulder so his arm can be put back into place. Once that is healed, he need his fractures reset to take some of the pressure off his wrist & then he just needs to maintain his Arthritis, being diagnosed so young means it will just get progressively worse. please donate what you can, every little helps as Tesco says!
