In loving memory of Nick King: A father, a friend, who left us too soon. We come together to celebrate his life, preserve his memory and raise awareness about the impact of suicide on families and communities. This crowdfunding tribute aims to honour his legacy, commemorate the love he shared and support mental health initiatives that strive to prevent such tragedies in the future. Nick King was a beacon of compassion, care and strength in our lives. He touched the hearts of any who had the privilege of knowing him. With his infectious grin, unconditional loyalty to those he loved and unwavering support to friends, he enriched the lives of all who surrounded him. Though he brought joy to many, he like so many others silently battled personal demons, unfortunately leading him down a dark and difficult path. Mental health challenges are not always visible, and we hope to shed light on the importance of understanding, supporting and advocating for those who suffer silently. Although mental health is talked about more openly in this day and age many don’t realise, we still have a long way to go. Especially surrounding Men’s Mental Health and the support out there for them… More than 3,000 people die by suicide in Australia every year. That’s an average of nine people each and every day. 6 out of 9 of those are Men. Young to middle-aged men make up 81.9% of these statistics. In the wake of this profound loss, we are determined to transform our grief into positive action. Through this crowdfunding tribute, we seek to honour Nicks's memory and raise awareness about Men’s Mental Health, especially in relation to suicide prevention. By sharing his story, we aim to break the stigma surrounding these issues and encourage open conversations about emotional well-being.
