Hello, I'm Joshua, reaching out to you today on behalf of my best friend and irreplaceable companion, Gypsy, who requires an ACL surgery. Over the past three months, I've spent close to $2000 and exhausted every possible non-surgical treatment to help her: numerous vet visits, x-rays, knee braces, countless hours of research, medication, rest, and even various CBD products. Yet, each apparent improvement was only a fleeting moment of hope, quickly replaced by a return of her limp, or even a mere toe tap due to her unbearable pain. If you've had the joy of encountering Gypsy, you'll know that 'special' is an understatement. Her presence is an embodiment of kindness and gentleness. She embraces everyone and everything as a friend and her curiosity about the world around her is insatiable. She showers affection on cats, playfully interacts with squirrels without ever causing them harm, she has made cows fall head over heels for her, and possesses a unique soft spot for children. Her intelligence is striking, as are her talents that she proudly displays at her 'workplaces', Dinosaur Coffee in LA and Communal in Nevada City, where she's the beloved 'shop dog'. Imagine the setting of 'Cheers' but with Gypsy as the star; everyone knows her name! There are three words that spark her excitement like no other; hike, ball, and Chewy (her boyfriend). These are her most cherished activities, yet they've been off-limits to her for the last three months. Gypsy, who will turn 8 in November, has a life of adventure ahead of her. Some may opt out of the surgery due to its high costs and the 80% chance of the other knee giving out within 1-2 years. But I am determined to ensure Gypsy lives the next 5+ years of her life to the absolute fullest. The surgery will cost around $5000, plus the cost of her subsequent recovery/rehab (including aquatic therapy for strengthening both her knees). So here I am, asking for your support to lighten this financial burden. I am fully aware of the difficult times many of us are going through, and if you can't donate, that's perfectly okay. Your support in sharing Gypsy's campaign would mean just as much! Thank you for your time and consideration, from both Joshua and Gypsy.
