What does music mean to you? At Music Makers NY there is no wrong answer. Whether a hobby, career or anywhere in the space between, we are here to help you make your musical aspirations a reality. Celebrating twenty-five years in New York City, and four years in our current space in Midtown Manhattan, Bob Elliot’s Music Makers NY continues to proudly open its doors to anyone seeking a space to make music and cultivate community. Now more than ever, we feel the need to make room for collaboration and creativity. In these days of remote work and isolating circumstances, the feeling of community is more vital than ever before, and community is something Music Makers NY radiates the moment one walks through our doors. Whether a seasoned musician or a curious beginner, you are immediately at home. Here, we aim to ignite the soundtrack of standing together, of forming friendships with instruments in hand, and we encourage all enthusiastically inspired musicians to join in our efforts. In the wake of the pandemic, we have suffered as an industry that depends on proximity and teamwork. While we are actively creating new programs and workshops to alleviate costs, we still need your help to push forward and remain a unique and encouraging resource for musicians. We are now reaching out to our wonderful community, to music lovers far and wide, and to anyone who has sung our praises in the past – with your support we look forward to furthering our mission as both a community music organization and a full-service music studio, a place where you can realize your dreams… and then record them! Serving as an accessible and positive atmosphere for musicians of any level, Music Makers NY strives to be an inspiring institution that not only nurtures creativity but guides players through the process, providing whatever they may need along the way. Whether it be workshops, rehearsal space, recording services or good ol’ jam sessions, Music Makers NY meets musicians where they are and gives them the time and space to achieve their goals. We continue to thank our patrons, the students, teachers, musicians, arts professionals, and producers who keep us going, as well as the affiliated organizations and individuals who have offered their assistance to us, no matter how small the ask.
