Hello, let me take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself. My name is Bradley Meij, I have two daughters who attend Chinley School and I’m a parent governor for Chinley school. Over the course of the 2024/24 academic year I’d like to help Chinley School raise some money for the school to use for pupil enrichment visits. I’d like to create more opportunities for the children to be able visit museums, heritage sites and the local area, etc, to support their educational development. School trips have become quite costly with coaches costing in the region of £600 per trip so a couple of trips a year quickly becomes costly. I’d like to raise enough money to see each class have at least one extra trip a year for the next three years so I am setting a target of £10 800 but if we can raise more that means more trips for the children. Every pound raised will be used exclusively for enrichment visits and visitors into school. Over the course of 2024/24 academic year I plan to undertake a number sporting endeavours (ultra marathons, Hyrox’s, half Ironmans, half marathons, etc) which are going to test me physically and mentally. In total I’m hoping to participate in and complete at least 14 events with the final event being the Wales Ironman on 22 September 2024. Ironman Wales is one of the most difficult Ironman races in the world. Finally a note from Peter Lambert, Headteacher of Chinley School “Educational visits and visitors into school are some of the most meaningful and memorable experiences which children take from their Primary School education. In a time of rising costs, we want to avoid having to pass additional costs on to parents and most importantly we want to keep as many enrichment activities as part of our curriculum as possible. School budgets are very tight and without the help of our PTA and fundraising events like the one Bradley is undertaking we are unable to offer everything we would like. Please support Bradley’s endeavours if you can, every pound will be used to enhance the children’s school experience.”
