Hi my name is Saffron. I emigrated to Australia in march to make a life here and a fresh start. The dream to follow my heart and to bring my beloved Merlin to follow me out here once I secured a future for us both. However, within a month of me being away Merlin where I brought him up in Porthleven in Cornwall had his first seizure. Over the last 3 months this has now rapidly escalated to him on Monday having his first cluster seizure. For almost 2 days Merlin has gone through a state of constant Mal and Focal seizures. Poor little Merlin's brain has been working overtime to try and become stable. I never thought I'd be in a situation where I would be asking for help, but whilst I've been away with all her kindness my sister has been looking after him. What breaks my heart though, is as I write this my sister is driving him Somerset to get him to the neurologist specialist who will get him the 48 hour intensive care he requires which is not available in Cornwall. My dream of bringing Merlin to Australia is no longer a reality. However this is not what im asking for help for, my plans have now changed to suit the outcome of Merlin's diagnose and I'll be coming home as soon as I can to help Merlin get back on his feet . In order to get Merlin the specialist care and with the cost of MRI and of future treatments looms, I'm asking any friends and anyone who knows knows merlin or anyone who has a genuine care for the underdog for any kind donation to help keep Merlin through this and everything he requires to stabilise and be the happy, carefree and compassionate dog he is. Anything that can contribute towards the substantial costs over these next weeks I would be forever grateful. Merlin is such a character, he’s playful and mischievous with kindest heart, a sensitive soul at only 18 months old has alot more love to give and receive. I truly hope that these next couple days with all the right help that I might get my boy back, this is heart breaking for me, my family and Merlin. Thank you spending time to read this.
