Our Ricky, as many of you know, has fallen ill. Wednesday of last week Ricky started to throw up small amounts of blood and his appetite decreased significantly. I took Ricky to the vet and was told this is a reaction to his second round of shots. I gave it a couple days to see if his condition would improve, but it did not. Ricky has never been your typical Aussie puppy, he’s always been very calm and sleeps very well at night….. as long as he’s snuggled up next to mommy! I took Ricky back to our vet and more test were ran. This time i was advised to take Ricky to MedVet where they can better care for him. After several more test have been completed, MedVet is telling me that Ricky suffers from a Liver Shunt, enlarged kidneys and kidney stones. If left untreated this Shunt would eventually affect his neurological functions and end up taking his life. The Vet Doctor says the surgery to fix this condition is not 100% but does have very high success rates. That’s enough for me! Ricky barked that he’s ready to fight too!! The money spent so far is around $4,000 and we are told that this surgery will add another $6,500 to $7,500. I’ve never dreamed that I would try to organize a Go Fund Me account, but here I am. Regardless of the success of this Go Fund Me campaign, Ricky will still get the surgery he needs to live a very playful and happy life. My request is for the overwhelming financial strain this will put on my family. My prayer is to only help cover the cost of this surgery. Should this request/campaign be overly successful, all additional money will be donated to the SPCA of Cincinnati in the name of all our Aussies. Thank you
