Max is the station cat at Chasewater Railway. Max arrived at Chasewater Railway as a stray cat in 2019. He was emaciated, had a flea infestation, was starving and very scared of humans. We eventually gained his trust and now Max is part of the railway family. The customers love him and he is a big part of the community. Chasewater Railway is a registered charity. Max has a fantastic home here. Sadly today it was clear Max was poorly. He has a very large nasty abscess on his back. Our volunteers took him to the vets and he has been given antibiotics and pain relief. He’s not himself at all and has been feeling very sorry for himself. We are trying to raise funds towards his veterinary treatment. If you can help in any way at all Max would really appreciate it. We do have a collection tub out at the station tea room (The Sidings Tea Room - WS8 7NL) if you’d rather donate in person. Max is normally around the station too for cuddles! UPDATE (32/10/2024) - Max is poorly again. Sadly Max was at the vets last week and he is suffering from stress dermatitis. We managed to get on top of this with steroid injections, however today we have been back to the vets again he’s now got cat flu/viral infection. He has had an antibiotic injection and his aunties have taken him home for the night to keep him warm. Please if you can spare a few pounds it would help greatly. Max sends big cuddles, hopefully he will be back to himself soon xx (UPDATE 5/5/24) - Max is poorly again he’s somehow managed to cut one of his paws open quite nastily. Hes been to see the vet and has antibiotics, pain relief and a medicated wash. He is at his auntie’s as he’s not allowed outdoors incase anything nasty gets in the wound, and we don’t want the wound coming open again. He is back at the vets for a follow up appointment this week. Thank you for all your support
