If you know my mom or my family, you know how passionate we are about rescuing. Our dogs are our life and if our dogs need medical attention, there’s no amount of money that will get in the way of us providing that. Just last month, Hercules completely lost feeling in his back legs. My parents called multiple neurologists and thankfully UC Davis had an appointment availability. They ran many tests on Hercules including X-rays, ultrasounds, MRI and blood work. After the MRI they found that his spinal cord was compressed and recommend he undergo a hemilaminectomy where they go in and decompress the spine. The surgery was successful but needed 2 weeks to recover in the hospital. Just last night, the night before he was suppose to come home, Hercules stomach started to turn and had to undergo emergency surgery. Thank God the surgery was successful with no complications, but will need another few days to recover in the hospital. Our total vet bill has amounted to $25k. If you can spare anything at all, it would mean the world to us.
