Why is the family of Maria Salazar asking for help? Maria Salazar is a 56-year-old loving mother of twins, aunt, daughter, sister, wife, and courageous woman who has been battling cancer for two years and was recently given less than two weeks to live. Over the last couple of days, her health has declined for the worst and the family is preparing for her parting. Unfortunately, her family urgently needs funds to cover critical end-of-life expenses, i.e., funeral, memorial services, etc. and unexpected costs to assist the family going through this difficult and painful time. How did we get here? On October 21, 2024, Maria was diagnosed with cancer (squamous cell carcinoma). Over the past two years, she powerfully went through radiation and chemotherapy. Participating in continuous visits to her doctor to attempt to combat her cancer, she has been fighting vigorously, with little to no rest from the effects of it. As they attempted a couple of versions of chemotherapy, they realized it was not working or helping the cancer. Around August 2024, she began losing her hair and decided to buzz her hair, to embrace her look. Around June 2024, she was hospitalized, and she was notified the cancer metastasized to her liver and was too aggressive. The doctors told her that she had less than six months to live, but as time passed, six months turned into two weeks. As of today, those numbers have decreased to any day now. She continues to fight her battle. Maria has spent her life doing what she was supposed to do. She was raised in the Bronx, NY, where she graduated from a catholic high school. She spent over 24 years with the love of her life. She worked for the government as a DOD employee for over 19 years and was also a banker. She raised successful, responsible, and caring twin boys, who are now men. She has served countless people in need and NOW the mission is to give back to her and her family, as she would have done for anyone else. How will your donation be used? Her family has been putting forth their best efforts to support her and the end-of-life costs. Unfortunately, it just isn’t enough. Your donations will support: • End-of-life costs such as uncovered memorial, funeral, and burial expenses. • Unpaid and uncovered medical expenses. • Miscellaneous expenses associated with her final days of battle Strong women like Maria, should never have to face this kind of unfortunate outcome. If was up to her, she would not ask for help in this way; however, if you are willing to donate, your donation will make a big impact on this courageous woman and her family. Thank You -- Family of Maria Salazar
