Hi, our names our Drew Wagner and George Smith, and we are rising seniors at Sacred Heart Preparatory. To complete our senior service requirement, we figured that we would do something that we really enjoyed, and not just find something that we "had to do" to check off our hours. We came up with the idea of a basketball court renovation, and we selected the location, Madison Park Academy, with the help of Oakland Athletic Commissioner Franky Navarro and Assistant Commissioner Lamont Robinson. To undergo a successful and thorough renovation, we are asking for $5,000. It costs $2,500 dollars to hire a contractor to 1) clean off the whole court, 2) fill in cracks in the court, 3) apply a thick asphalt seal coat, and 4) restripe the court. The remaining $2,500 dollars are going towards hiring an artist and providing supplies for the artist to complete his/her design. With this court renovation, the community around Madison Park Academy will have an upgraded space to come together and play basketball. Any size donation helps. Thank you!
