Stephanie Bridegam is writing a story of her beloved niece, Maddie Smith. She needs help funding the publishing of this precious book! From Stephanie: "First, let me tell you a little bit about Maddie. Maddie was adopted at the age of six. I was already considered her aunty from day one but in a few years, I became her primary caregiver along with her mom, Jenny Smith. Maddie had Cerebral Palsy which led her to require total care. She used a wheelchair and was non-verbal, yet she definitely had her own way of communicating. She often communicated with facial expressions, her eyes, and augmentative communication devices. Maddie changed my life and the lives of so many. She was brave, beautiful, silly, joyful, and so much more. As one of our friends said, 'She (Maddie) taught me to leave a little sparkle whenever I go.' Unfortunately, Maddie passed away way too soon, just shy of her 21st birthday on November 25th, 2024. I wrote this children’s book in honor of her and to keep her beautiful legacy alive. I hope this book will teach children (and maybe even a few adults) about how individuals with disabilities are just like everyone else and I want it to point to Jesus. The funds raised will go towards paying the illustrator and to cover the price of self-publishing. Any funds not used for the above purposes will be donated to a non-profit near and dear to Maddie’s and mine hearts- Joni and Friends. " Thank you in advance! -Stephanie Bridegam
