Lunch THE PREMISE When a graphic designer and a video game streamer have a chance encounter in the park, they immediately click and spend an amazing day together talking and falling in love. We greatly appreciate you checking out our campaign. More details about who I am and why we are trying to tell this story are below - I'm DeAndre Harris II. I am an actor, writer, and producer. I've written multiple series, short films, and feature films. I'm currently turning, 'Lucid' from a feature film into a five part series with an amazing team including Producer, Alexis Sabo, who is also the producer of Lunch. During my time as a writer, I have garnered 10 screenplay awards from various festivals comprising a finalist and quarterfinalist award from the Reno Tahoe Screenplay Contest, two awards from Pinnacle Film Awards and Royal Wolf Film Awards, an award from Chicago Script Awards, Critics' Choice International Film Festival, Depth of Field International Film Festival, and a finalist and award from Ediplay International Film Festival based in France. Lastly, I have one nominee from Mojo International Film Awards. I've spent the last 8 years developing my craft as an actor and writer. I love to write stories that connect with people on multiple levels and that feel personal in some way. This particular project is important to me because it highlights a topic I have thought about for a while but have not seen in film which is and will be an earnest and truthful portrayal of love at first site. The team and I are extremely aware of the nuances of meeting and trying to keep everything in while also trying to show your full self to someone you like. I have a personal affection for wanting to tell this story because for the past three years, I have been with my now wife and falling for her the first day we met. Meeting someone for the first time and seeing her and already knowing that I was going to marry her. This experience helped to inform the script and allowed me to put into words. what I could not before. And with your help - those words can find a life of their own in visual form. I'm so excited to be able to jump into this world with these characters and my team. THE TEAM Production Company: HSD FILMS & Will Power Productions Writer: DeAndre Harris II Producer: Alexis Sabo & Joshua Diolosa Director: William Hadden Cinematographer: Bobby Boyd Composer: Joshua Diolosa THE LOOK OF THE FILM Our influences range from films such as Donald Petrie's 'How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days' and Chris Evans' 'Before We Go' to Emily Ting's 'Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong' to Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris'. Lunch is a simple walk and talk film. THE MUSIC Music is important to any film. The music used will underlay key moments in the film. To keep the film within budget, we will be using Artlist.io to score the film. Artlist.io helps with finding the best music for the film and makes licensing the music easier. THE WORLD The world will be set in the real world where everything can be simple, yet complicated. Since the film takes place in a park, there is no additional need for fantastical elements. Everything will be practical and funds will be used for anything we need on hand. THE ACTORS There was a lot of time spent casting for the film and decided that if we didn't find the right people for the role, we would not pursue the project. Luckily we found the perfect two actors to play the leads DeAndre Harris II has been in the industry for 8 years, starting in 2015. Since beginning his acting career, DeAndre has been in many films and an ESPN+ show. During the pandemic, DeAndre used writing as a creative outlet and has written 'Lucid', which has numerous awards as a screenplay, and 'Ink, Stage, and Spice' formerly known as 'Roomies: Nashville' which has also acquired a couple of awards as well. You can follow him on Instagram and Twitter @deandreharrisii Emma Rose Williamson is thrilled to play Sophia in this beautiful story! YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS I'm looking forward to making this film, with your help, and I can't express enough how grateful I would be to have the honor to do so. Your contributions will make this story possible in the way that it should be told and will also make sure that we take care of everyone who works on the film which is so important to me during the filmmaking process to adequately make sure we aren't overreaching, becoming unethical with working hours on set, and most importantly - compensating the crew for their time and efforts. What We Need & What You Get I understand what it means to ask for funds to create a passion project so please see below for a transparent list of how we will divvy up the funds. Crew - i.e. the actors, producers, director, and director of photography. Equipment - we need to rent a variety of camera equipment for the shoot such as the camera and lenses. Insurance - every film shoot is not without some things you didn't prepare for. Insurance makes it so that if these things do happen - items and people will be taken care of in the event of any accidents. A necessity. Food - feeding the crew and cast are of the utmost importance to me as a director. Your contributions will make sure we'll have the means to supply everyone with a full stomach and a ready creative mind as the shoot will consist of two days. Post production - editing and music are integral to making a great final product. Our post production team is so talented and they are the people to push the film to the next level to be ready for viewing by audiences and festivals alike. The Impact + Festival Goals In the past, my films have reached audiences at film festivals. With this film, we hope to reach an even wider audience because we plan to take this to higher tiered festivals such as SXSW, New York Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival and Festival de Cannes & Sundance. After the festival run, Lunch will have a premiere in Nashville. Locations will be decided upon at a later date and you will be notified as well! Risks & Challenges Shooting a film in Nashville, TN can be difficult due to transportation and permits needed for filming in parks. Your contributions will be a game changer. Other Ways You Can Help If you don't have the means to help our campaign this time around - that's okay too! I really, really appreciate you taking the time to read to the end of this. If you can, we'd love it if you could share this on any of your social accounts to spread the word if you would be so willing. Thank you!
