We are raising funds to cover our sweet kitten Lucy's medical bills. She had an emergency vet visit on July 2nd where she needed an immediate blood transfusion because her little 8lbs body was attacking its own blood cells. Diagnostic tests showed she had anemia, most likely caused by a mycoplasma infection. X-rays also showed her heart was way too big, even if it belonged to a cat the size of her brother Jude. After three long days at the vet, we managed to get her blood levels to a stable enough point to continue treating the anemia at home. Her cardiologist appointment was on July 13th which confirmed she has a heart condition but thankfully it is not severe enough to need treatment prior to getting the anemia under control. Unfortunately, her blood levels recently starting dropping close to critical again and because of her heart we cannot make changes to her current medication plan without consulting an internal medicine specialist. Lucy’s appointment with them is on July 18th and we think it may include another blood transfusion because of how low her levels were last. The internal medicine doctors luckily have experience with cases like Lucy’s and will help be able us figure out the best treatment plan. We are doing everything possible to get Lucy healthy again. She is only a one-year-old kitten who is loved so deeply by her family and is closely bonded with her siblings- Sgt. Pepper and Jude. The three of them adore each other and we want nothing more than for them to live long happy lives together. Lucy's overnight vet stays and intensive treatment has already amounted to over $7,000. It is expected that we passed the most critical point but her health is still fragile. Another blood transfusion, if needed, will be quite expensive. Medications and frequent blood panels will continue to be part of Lucy's long-term care. Any funds will help us recover from the financial blow and ensure that we do not have to say no to any further treatment. Lucy is doing well at home and proving resilient so far which gives us so much hope that with the right care, she will bounce back. To help with fundraising, any donations over $20 will receive a "Beatles Kittens" sticker. Just email your address to [email redacted]. Even if you are not able to donate, please send positive thoughts and love little Lucy's way. If we surpass our goal and cover Lucy's care, any additional funds raised will go to Jin's Bottle Babies. JBB rescued Lucy, Jude, and Sgt. Pepper when they were only weeks old and continues to help every kitten they can find a loving home. Other ways to help: All profits from my Art Shops will be going directly to Lucy's care! All profits in July from JBB Kitten Art will also be donated!
