For as long as I can remember, my greatest goal has been to connect with as many people as possible through music. Shortly after completing a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from McGill, I began to shift my focus toward scoring to film, TV, and video games—a domain that encompasses my love and appreciation of music in all of its many forms. For the last five years, I've dedicated my time to exploring this industry, garnering a handful of clients along the way, and providing scores to student films, video games, and various projects as a freelancer. But I wanted to take this passion to the next level. Early this year, I got accepted to two prestigious film scoring master's programs in Europe and chose the Film Scoring Academy of Europe in Sofia, Bulgaria—consisting of a one-year MFA program that invites twenty students from around the world to compose and conduct their music alongside some of the best musical mentors in the business. This program, to me, is a lifelong dream coming to fruition. And with a final project culminating in an 84-piece symphony orchestra and (epic) choir, I knew that this was an opportunity that I could not turn down—even with a daunting tuition cost of €36,950 (or just over CAD 50,000) for the year. Through scholarships, loans and other means, I’ve managed to secure the funding for the majority of the tuition. What I'm asking for today is a little more assistance to help get me (literally) all the way there. For me be able to buy plane tickets, equipment, and the remaining tuition. Any contribution you can make is deeply appreciated and will help me make this lifelong dream a reality. I look forward to embarking on this journey very soon and would be thrilled to share updates on my time in Sofia and my experience in the program with you! (The day I got my first guitar)
