Hi! My name is Amanda Bashline and I have begun this fundraiser to aid a top-notch athlete crush her goals in the Junior Olympics in Eugene, OR, while simultaneously swelling the heart of the most amazing Mother that is always cheering her on. Jody Shollenberger is a local tumbling instructor. “Miss Jody”, as she is warmly referred to in our home, was born and raised in Grove City, PA. She has 4 beautiful babies of her own, but has devoted so much love and attention to countless children through her coaching journey. She has committed the past 28 years to pushing our tiny humans to be the very best versions of themselves that they can be. She creates a safe learning environment while building physical and emotional strength backed by confidence. Miss Jody is so much more than a tumbling instructor. She is driving our children to develop positive attributes that will drive them toward nothing short of success. Just like her mother, Jody’s oldest daughter, Rylee, is an exemplary role model! 5 years ago, Rylee showed interest in the high-jump. In 3 short months of learning and practicing the new sport, she was distinguished in this event and participated in the Junior Olympics for the first time at 13 years of age. She has continued to pursue her goals and has qualified for the Junior Olympics every year since. Due to financial difficulties, Rylee has not attended this event since 2017. Rylee has not let this disparity cloud her training! This weekend, Rylee placed second in the Region 2 Junior Olympic Qualifier. This placement qualifies her to compete at The Junior Olympics held in Eugene, Oregon in just a couple weeks. Rylee turned 18 this year and graduated High School with High Honors. This is the last time she is eligible to compete. Finances are tough for everyone right now. Jody and Rylee also have to consider the monetary strain that they will undergo during the anticipated deployment of Jody’s husband with the United States Army. Jody always shows up for our children and it is time that we show up for her and her family. They have worked so hard to accomplish these goals and overcome disparities in the meantime. Let’s work together to send Jody and Rylee to Eugene, Oregon! I have been working closely with Jody trying to bargain-plan a trip to the Junior Olympics. My goal is to finance this 2-day trip for Jody and Rylee. We have considered costs for flight, hotel, airport transportation, meals, and event admission. Every little thing helps! If you can’t donate, please share with your favorite athletes and their parents! I don’t want to add unnecessary pressure, but we are on a time constraint. Rylee is set to jump July 26, 2024 if funds are available to accept the invitation to compete! In the event that we do not raise enough money for the trip, Jody is happy to refund all donations. Please note that LFEBridge does retain a small portion of each donation and we are unable to refund that portion. Your generosity is truly appreciated!
